We have a very specific idea of what a diamond should look like. Most want them bright white with lots of great sparkle. Not all of us know what makes a diamond like that, nor do we know about great cut, or clarity, or even that most diamonds lean toward the yellow or dingier side, unless you have a lot of money to spend on a diamond.

However, diamonds don't have to be white, or dingy white for that matter. Diamonds come in a wide variety of colors. Black diamonds are a great example of beautiful diamonds that are far from our traditional outlook on diamonds. These stones are black, they lack the flash of a traditional diamond. For many they are a great choice because they have great beauty while leaving behind the traditional, the common, the everyday.
